Great Plains Re-Opens School of Min ...

August 28th brought about the re-introduction and re-opening of the School of Ministry (SOM) program within the Great Plains Conference.  The administrative mantle of directing the program was effectually passed by GPC Secretary/Treasurer Craig Lawlis to the new director, Robbie Burd.  Below is a quick welcome by Bishop Gary Burd and below you can view an introductory video the established format of the SOM.

“First, let me thank you for deciding to advance your knowledge of the Word of God and your efforts in ministry. We must study to ‘show ourselves approved’ before the Lord. If you understand there is a double judgment on those who stand and share the Word with others, you take seriously the need to be prepared.

“Secondly, thanks for choosing the Great Plains Conference’s School of Ministry. We believe it can be worked around just about any schedule and will prove valuable to you for personal growth and ministry opportunity. Our desire is to allow people to keep working, keep doing ministry and get a good foundation for their future. We also wanted to make it affordable; you will have a very small investment in your education that will be invaluable to your future.

“Finally, it is our desire to produce men and women of faith that can worship in Spirit and Truth for the harvest of our days. The Great Plains Conference is in need of men and women that are equipped to serve the communities in our region in order to turn them back to the Lord.”May God bless you on this journey of education.”

Gary Burd, Conference Bishop (August 2010)
